Welcome to the 30-Day Free Portuguese challenge! Having a daily language goal is a great way to make sure you get some daily Portuguese practice in (outside of your weekly lessons if you’re having any). They will also give you a huge boost of motivation, especially if you’ve been feeling a little out of sorts lately and feeling like you’re not progressing.
All this is even better when there is a plan laid out for you to follow!
All you need to do is make sure you have time reserved daily to dedicate to this. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Make that conscious decision to commit to reserving time in your day to follow through with the activities. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, this challenge has something for everyone, so make sure you do the activities according to your proficiency level (when applicable) and the available time you have!
I know life happens and time in the day runs out sometimes. That’s ok, I’d rather you do the task another day than not at all. There is a free progress tracking sheet below for you to download. This will help you keep track of any tasks you miss and any other relevant notes you’d like to make for future reference. However, my advice is to slot the time out beforehand and commit to that.
Also, I know that not all of you are in Portugal at the moment to be able to do some of the proposed activities, but alternatives will be suggested. These may be speaking or shopping activities, for example. So being part of an online chat group or a Facebook community group where you can interact with native speakers or other learners who are keen to practice are options to consider. It won’t be as good as speaking in a real-life context but it’s better than using it as an excuse to not do anything!
For instance, this is The Sounds of Portuguese Facebook Group I manage if you’re not already part of it and it’s free to join! Other websites that may be good to consider are Italki (not free) or Polyglotclub (free). (I’m not affiliated or connected with either Italki or Polyglotclub).
How the Challenge works:
Every day, for 30 consecutive days, you’ll receive one email from me with a specific activity/goal for you to accomplish that day.
But, before you start, it’s very important that you think about WHY you want to do this and what you want out of the challenge. This will be your motivation booster for the days you start to falter! Make sure you slot out time in your day to accomplish each task as best you can. To track your progress, print this free Portuguese track sheet out and put them somewhere visible such as the fridge door for example.
