Read a Children’s Story

Reading in your target language is a great way to learn the language. If you have the chance to buy a few children’s books, that’s great. However, I’m a fan of recycling old books no one wants. So if you have a chance to go to a car boot sale (feira de velharias) in your area or perhaps a charity shop (loja de caridade), these are good options.

If this isn’t an option, I have a few children’s stories for you to browse too. They are part of my audiobook recording list which you can see here. Search under “The Brothers Grimm” or “Hans Christian Anderson“, for instance.

When you click on a story, you’ll be able to download a written version of the story. You’ll also have access to the audio recording and a quiz to test your comprehension.
