🇵🇹 A quick language note before we begin
Before we explore these stories, here’s a very common mix-up.
In Portuguese, “legenda” does not mean legend in the storytelling sense.
It actually means subtitle or caption – the text you see at the bottom of a video or under an image.
The word for a traditional story passed down through generations is:
👉 lenda – a legend, myth, or folk tale.
As for subtítulo in Portuguese, it also means subtitle, especially in films and television.
And now, bora lá começar!!
