How’s your Portuguese? Take the overview quiz below to gauge your Portuguese and get an idea of what level you’re at. This quiz is not an official language proficiency test and its purpose is to serve as a guide. This way you can more accurately self-access where you’re at and what you need to focus on. Answer according to what rings true to you. If your answer is “most of the time” or “for the most part” choose the option yes. If your answer is “depends”, “a few” or “sometimes” then choose option no. There are 56 statements/questions in total.
Did you get a confusing result?
Maybe you feel you’re at a higher or lower level than you got. This can happen if you’re in between levels or you were under/overconfident with your answers. As I’ve mentioned in the post What is A1/A2 in Portuguese? it takes many hours of active or guided learning to complete a level. In other words, each level encompasses a range of different skills. You may have completed a level A2 course but you still don’t feel confident or you can’t recall everything you learnt, so you got an A1 result. Same for completing an A2 course and you get a B1 result in this How’s your Portuguese? quiz just means that you got these B1 questions right and may not mean you know everything in level B1.
