Açorda de Marisco is a Portuguese seafood bread stew that is both flavorful and comforting. It includes a rich broth made with garlic, cilantro, olive oil, bread and piri-piri. The term “açorda” refers to a dish where bread is a key ingredient, providing a unique texture and taste.

- 500 gr camarão (500 gr shrimp)
- 500 gr amêijoas (500 gr clams)
- 500 gr berbigão (500 gr cockles)
- 500 gr pão (500 gr bread)
- 4 colheres de sopa azeite (4 Tbsp of olive oil)
- 3 dentes alho (3 garlic cloves)
- 3 ovos (3 eggs)
- 1 ramo coentros pequeno (small bunch of coriander)
- q.b. pimenta branca (white pepper to taste)
- q.b. sal (salt to taste)
- q.b. piripiri (peri-peri to taste)

1 – Coza os camarões em pouca água e côe a água. Abra as amêijoas e os berbigões em recipientes separados e côe as respectivas águas. (Boil the prawns in a little water and strain the water. Open the clams and cockles in separate containers and strain the water.)
2 – Junte a água dos três mariscos e leve ao lume. Regue o pão com esta água. (Add the water from the three shellfish and bring to the boil. Drizzle the bread with this water.)
3 – Aloure os dentes de alho com o azeite e coloque o raminho de coentros. (Fry the garlic cloves with the olive oil and add the sprig of coriander.)
4 – Deixe fritar durante 1 minuto e junte o pão. Mexa com uma colher de pau de modo a obter uma açorda homogénea mas mole. (Fry for 1 minute and add the bread. Stir with a wooden spoon to obtain a homogeneous but soft açorda.)
5 – Retire os coentros e tempere com sal, pimenta e piripiri. (Remove the coriander and season with salt, pepper and piripiri.)
6 – Introduza os mariscos na açorda, dê uma volta e retire do lume. (Add the seafood to the açorda, turn it round and remove from the heat.)
7 – Junte imediatamente os ovos, mexa e sirva de imediato. (Immediately add the eggs, stir and serve.)
